World Maths Day in P1
19th Mar 2026
Today Primary 1 celebrated World Maths Day.
This week they have completed lots of activities based on the story 'The Three Little Pigs.' Today when they returned from the classroom we found a letter from the Three Little Pigs asking for our help.
They asked if we could work in groups to build a house for them. We gathered up and used materials from the classroom like play doh, sticks, lego, straw and bricks. We showed great team work skills such as sharing, taking turns and listening to others. Once completed, we carefully inspected each house and predicted which house would be the tallest, shortest, heaviest, lightest and strongest and weakest.
We then carried out an investigation to see which house would best survive the Big Bad Wolf’s huffing and puffing- we had so much fun!!
