The 14th of February is a great time of year to focus on how we can show compassionate love and kindness to our friends and family. What's better than a day that celebrates love! There was certainly lots of love in the air in St. Mary's today! The children had a great time taking part in lots of Valentine's Day activities!

Primary 1 were feeling the love this Valentine's Day. They made cards for their Valentine and even made some  delicious love cookies!

Primary 2 had a lovely day making cards for their special valentines.

Primary 3 Love was well and truly in the air in P3! The children celebrated Valentine’s Day by making cards and completing some arts and crafts! The girls were well and truly spoilt with beautiful flowers given to them on the special day by a very special boy!!!

Primary 4  The children in primary four were definitely feeling  very 'sweet' this Valentines Day. The children made some beautiful sweet filled love bugs and made their very own lolly pop flowers for their loved ones. The children were able to paint their love bugs and fill them full of love and sweet treats. We had great fun today showing love!!

Primary 5 showed those close to them how loved they are by creating beautiful Valentine's cards. We used a range of different artistic techniques such as creating a marble effect with paint, using chalk/oil pastels and some of us even had a go at creating an oragami heart!

Primary 6 were feeling very creative on Valentine's day; they had to design a Valentine card fit for sale in a shop. They talked about who Valentine's cards are usually aimed at, what colours are often used and what kind of writing is usually inside the cards. The children created a range of different cards - humorous cards, sweet and charming cards and some children even used a play on words. Check out their fabulous cards below.

Primary 7 learned about the history of St. Valentine and where the tradition started.  We then used paper, glitter and mindfullness colouring to create cards for those we love the most.
