Transition from Primary to Secondary School.

15th Jun 2020

A new, much bigger school can offer greater independence, such as the first smart phone, and a world of opportunity. However it also means new teachers, new subjects and potentially a whole new set of friends.

  • Starting Secondary School a new campaign from BBC Bitesize aimed at 10-12 year olds and their parents, will shine a light on the great potential of starting afresh in secondary school and also offer practical advice and emotional support to help take the stress out of taking the next big step. • Film Resources

Click on the link below to watch the film 'Moving On Moving Up', usually shown to the Primary 7 children in school at this time of year. http://movingforward.me/subjects/

  • The 'Young Minds' resource below reassures children that they’re not alone when it comes to their worries about secondary school, that there are ways to cope with change and there are people to talk to when things get difficult. Click on the link below to show your child the film and encourage your child to express their thoughts and feelings about moving to Secondary School.
