Term 3 in Primary 5
P5 have had a very busy and exciting final term at school. We thoroughly enjoyed our final World Around Us topic Magnificent Machines, where we took part in a wide range of fun and interesting investigations. These included exploring how our heart rate changes during activity and learning all about how the digestive system works.
As part of our learning, we created eBooks about different organs in the human body and confidently presented our findings to the class. We also embraced several hands-on STEM challenges such as building our own pulleys (a type of simple machine) and designing straw rockets.
In Literacy, we focused on instructional writing and had great fun making our own Rice Krispie buns to support our learning. In Numeracy, we enjoyed lots of practical and outdoor activities, with our game of Battleships proving to be a class favourite for developing our understanding of coordinates!
We also got creative with a variety of art activities, including painting our clay crosses and designing thoughtful goodbye posters for our P7 leavers.
Take a look at the photos below to see some of our fantastic work!
