Love is in the Air!
Today we celebrated St. Valentine’s Day in St. Mary's! We hosted a St Valentine’s themed non-uniform day and the children came to school dressed in red or pink for a voluntary donation of £2.00 towards school funds. Thank you to our school community for all the generous donations!
The 14th of February is a great time of year to focus on how we can show compassionate love and kindness to our friends and family. What's better than a day that celebrates love! There was certainly lots of love in the air in St. Mary's today! The children had a great time taking part in lots of Valentine's Day activities and in Assembly we highlighted the importance of caring for our school community through acts of love and kindness!
Please enjoy the photos below! Wishing everyone a very Happy Valentine's Day and mid-term break!

Primary 5 learned all about St Valentine and why we celebrate St Valentine's Day. We discussed ways which we could be loving, caring people just like St Valentine. The P5 boys and girls showed those close to them how loved they are by creating beautiful Valentine's art.
Primary 6 learned all about why we celebrate St Valentine's day. We studied St Valentine and the wonderful work that he is known for. We then made special cards to give to those that we love and to thank those for loving and caring for us.
Primary 7 learned about the history of St. Valentine and where the tradition started. We then used paper, glitter and mindfullness colouring to create cards for those we love the most.
