Cabragh Cup - Netball

11th Jun 2026

What a fantastic day of netball was had at St Mary’s today at our annual Cabragh Cup netball tournament! Alongside 3 of our own teams, we hosted teams from local schools including: Aughadarragh, Aughnacloy, Ballygawley, Carrickmore, Donaghmore, Edendork, Eglish, Glencull, Galbally and Moy.

There was a brilliant level of skill and sportsmanship on display from all teams. Each and every girl was a credit to their school. Well done to all the teams who took part. A special word of congratulations to Roan St Patricks, Eglish who defeated St Patrick’s, Donaghmore in a thrilling final of the Una Hackett Shield, which required extra time to find a winner. Congratulations also to St Malachy’s, Glencull who edged out the St John’s, Moy girls in an exciting Joe Sheehan Cup final. Two super games of netball played in great spirit!

Thanks to all the staff of St Mary’s who allowed the competition to run so smoothly and ensured the day was a success. From planning fixtures, co-ordinating games, keeping scores, ordering and collecting medals, making tea and food and looking after our visiting schools. A special word of thanks in particular to our fabulous netball referees, Caoimhe and Ava, who did a great job officiating and ensuring each game was played fair. Thank you!
