The Primary 1 children had a great surprise today when they found out that a beanstalk has grown overnight from the magic beans they planted yesterday, and that a Giant was now in their classroom. He was stuck in our world and needed help to get back to his castle. The children were asked to estimate, measure and record using non-standard units of measure, and only by working very well in pairs, sharing, taking turns and getting the measurements right could the giant be helped. We are happy to report that the giant is safely back to his castle and the children did a great job with their tasks!
