It has been a very exciting week in St. Mary’s!
At St Mary’s Primary School, we recognise that ICT can empower both teachers and learners and transform teaching and the learning in the classroom. We are committed to the improvement of ICT and Mrs Quinn, the school principal, has decided to upgrade the school’s ICT equipment and the school has purchased seven Clevertouch 75” LED Interactive Touchscreens for P1- P7 and three wall lifts for the screens in P1-P3.
We would like to thank our parents who supported our fundraising draw in the first term and our Parent Support Group, who have secured £1,491.12 from a rural micro grant scheme, which has enabled the school to purchase one of the new Clevertouch screens.
The Clevertouch screen is basically a giant iPad or tablet, on which you can manipulate and interact with content easily. It comes with built in software which enables teachers to share their lessons, easily access content and download and share their favourite apps. Teachers and pupils alike can use the tablet-like functionality to interact with content, simultaneously write and draw and connect iPads to mirror content and deliver and share content anywhere in the classroom.
The children’s faces lit up when they got to use the Clevertouch screens for the first time. The children were really excited and the teachers are also delighted with the new screens!
One of the benefits of introducing the interactive Clevertouch screens is the greater interactivity between teachers and pupils and the new Clevertouch screens will enable the children to access learning in a more stimulating way. The teachers and children can mirror the iPads to the Clevertouch screen and a wide variety of teaching resources and apps can be accessed to enhance the children’s learning across the curriculum.
These screens will revolutionise the children’s learning experience and enhance the teachers’ ability to deliver innovative and rich lessons.
